Why refresh your company first-aiders

First-aid skills fade quickly if they are not practised. The Workplace Well-Being Code asks the employer to ensure that first-aiders keep their knowledge and skills up to date. A periodic refresher makes sure that, on the day of an accident, your first-aiders react quickly and well · effective CPR, correct use of the defibrillator, control of bleeding.

Our refresher is deliberately short and practical: as much scenario practice as possible, as little theory as possible, for a real impact on reflexes.

How often should you refresh?

A yearly refresher is the periodicity generally recommended to maintain a good level. The exact frequency can be adjusted through your risk assessment, in consultation with the prevention adviser and the CPPW. We can schedule recurring sessions for your teams.

How the refresher runs

The refresher is delivered in-house, at your premises, over about 4 hours. It combines targeted review and hands-on workshops on manikins and training defibrillators, with scenarios adapted to your context. All equipment is provided and travels with our trainers.

Initial training or refresher?

This module is for already-trained first-aiders. If your staff have never followed company first-aider training, first direct them to the workplace first aid training (approx. 15 h) before enrolling them in the yearly refresher.
